Starting at Muratie Wine Farm for the first time, the route sets off to dominate Meurant Botha's famous Dirtopia trails on the slopes of Simonsberg before heading towards Stellenbosch. On their way, runners will be treated to the mystical atmosphere of the trails around Idas Valley Dam and then pass into Bothmaskop to traverse the drop towards the race village (with a quick exploration of Lanzerac Farm on the way).

Routes may be altered due to adverse conditions like rain or fire. The primary option is to reroute; the second is to shorten the course. Decisions will be made in consultation with safety personnel.
